First of all the the virus is just 30,000 bases. And in this era of modern techniques, with a virus like 96.2 close, can be used for a synthetic construct. Or other ways can be used.

RaTG13 & most probably RaTG15 are simply copypasted together / non-existing-in-nature genomes. The sequences look like virions, but... RaTG13 is a fabrication, real smoking guns: ZC45 & ZCX21, almost never mentioned, always derailed if discussions arise.
